I wanted
to send you a quick note to thank all of you for allowing me to fulfill my dream of taking a long cruise with my mother and father. We were able to get away from the same old routine and nurses. We had taken a very short cruise out of Galveston about five years ago, and ever since I have wanted to do a longer one.I am thirteen-years-old and just wanted to spend some nice, quality time with my parents without having to worry about anything. This might sound funny, but my favorite part of the cruise was that I received a FREE coke pass, which I took advantage of all week. Being in kidney failure, I am supposed to be on a very limited intake of fluids. For a whole week, I got to enjoy coke and it was awesome. Everyone talks about all the great food on cruises, but since I don’t eat by mouth, I’m talking about the great, cold cokes I was able to drink all week long. I met so many people that I felt like a celebrity. Everyone was so nice to me and it felt great. The coordinator Geoff was so nice. He arranged a lot of programs for me and my family to do, which was great. I am physically unable to do a lot, but he came up with other things for me to do. He took me on a V.I.P. tour of the Bridge to meet the Captain and I also got to see the ship’s huge kitchen to meet the Chef. When Geoff found out that I like computers, he gave me free access to the ship’s Internet. I really enjoyed seeing the beautiful blue water and islands. I also enjoyed the city bus ride in Cozumel that I talked my dad into taking me on. I took a lot of pictures with my mom and dad. I had a great time and was very happy all week long, thanks to you all. Here are some photos of our trip I’d like to share. Thank you very, very much. Let us know if there is anything we can do to repay you all. Love, Andrew “Kyle” |

Giselle dresses up during her shopping spree at the Galleria!Thank you everyone at "Make-A-Wish Foundation!" Giselle had a great time, and I know she felt like a very special princess on this day. You guys are awesome and very special at what you do. Seeing a smile on a child with cancer is something very special that a parent can truly appreciate. This has been my toughest job as a mother, but I know God has a purpose for everything that happens in life. Thank you and God bless! Love, Norma Giselle was diagnosed in November 2007 with Leukemia. Her prognosis is good and we pray for her to recover soon. She was very excited to meet the real Santa Clause at the Galleria on Nov 1, 2008. She had a super lunch with him and she gave him a big hug! Her wish come true, did not end there though. She shopped until her heart was content at the Disney Store, Build a Bear and got a head to toe make-over at Libby Lu (pictured, left). She looked like a superstar at the end of her shopping day experience! Together with her sisters and family, her day will certainly never be forgotten. I am very proud to call her my niece she is a courageous and fearless little girl, always loving and happy. Her illness never brings her down and she brings so much joy and love to our family. Thank you Make-A-Wish for making another deserving child’s wish come true. Nancy (Giselle’s aunt) |
